Key highlight: Hardware‑integrated MACsec security engine compliant with IEEE 802.1AE‑2018, enabling frame-level encryption, integrity check, and replay protection without additional latency or software overhead.

The PHYs also feature native Time‑Sensitive Networking (TSN) support for deterministic, ultra‑low‑latency communication in ADAS, in‑vehicle zone gateways, and industrial control networks.

For functional safety, the series is optimized for ISO 26262 ASIL‑B with advanced on‑chip diagnostics and link monitoring, improving system visibility and fault handling.

Pin‑compatible designs allow easy migration between 100BASE‑T1 and 1000BASE‑T1 models, supporting both SGMII and RGMII host interfaces. Maximum junction temperature reaches 150°C, meeting Grade 1 automotive standards.

Applications include in‑vehicle systems, industrial automation, robotics, and avionics.

ICgoodFind: Microchip’s new SPE PHYs blend security, low latency, and functional safety – ready for next‑gen automotive and industrial Ethernet.
